Privacy Policy

Effective: October 22, 2026Jurisdiction: Texas, USAEntity: Space Channel Inc.
Space Channel, Inc., a Texas corporation, operates the Space Channel website and apps, Deep Space Radio apps, and related services that link to this Privacy Policy. This notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit, create an account, purchase a membership or merchandise, use our programming and tools, or communicate with us. Where applicable data-protection law uses the term, Space Channel is the controller of the personal information described here. This notice describes our current services. Community posting, custom image uploads, digital-download sales, and training a community-moderation AI on member posts are not currently offered. We will provide updated information and any necessary choices before introducing materially different data uses. Accepting our Terms or acknowledging this Policy does not waive privacy rights or give consent for processing that requires a separate choice.

1 Information we collect

Account information. We collect first and last name, email address, authentication credentials, membership tier and status, and profile choices such as a call sign or selected avatar. Our custom authentication system manages logins. Staff do not have a feature that displays members' passwords. Do not send passwords or payment-card details in support messages. Transactions. Membership and store payments are processed through Stripe. Stripe receives the payment and billing information entered during checkout. Physical orders also involve recipient, shipping, contact, and order information processed by Printful for production and delivery. We receive or can access transaction and customer records needed to administer memberships, purchases, support, and refunds through our systems or provider accounts. These records may include order details, payment status, transaction identifiers, and limited payment-method information. Our internal dashboards may not display every record held by those providers. Usage and devices. We collect technical and activity information such as IP address, browser and device information, app or platform used, page visits, login and email-verification events, and interaction information. IP addresses and device identifiers are personal information where applicable; they are not necessarily anonymous. Member engagement. Our internal beacons record use of the website, Space Channel iOS and tvOS apps, and Deep Space Radio app. Our internal member dashboard includes membership tier, join date, last activity, login and device information, overall engagement, and radio-station use. It currently does not display which particular program a member watched on the live television channel. These internal beacons send their data to Space Channel's systems. Website analytics and session replay. We use Google Analytics and StatCounter to understand page visits, activity, performance, and navigation. These tools may receive technical identifiers and interaction data. They can operate on the login page before an account is created and around email-verification activity. StatCounter's desktop session-replay feature records page interactions and visible page content. We configure form-field masking intended to hide names and passwords from replay. Masking does not make all activity anonymous or eliminate all risk that displayed information could appear in a recording. Email and communications. We collect messages and information you send through email or our Contact feature. Our Orbit Mail system records delivery status and, when tracking operates, email opens and link clicks associated with subscribers. Open measurements may be affected by email-provider privacy features and are not always accurate. We also maintain newsletter preferences and unsubscribe records. We do not currently request access to your precise device location, microphone, camera, contacts, or photo library. A rough location may be inferred from an IP address by analytics or infrastructure providers. New permissions, if introduced, will be explained at the relevant time.

2 Where information comes from

We receive information directly from you; automatically from your browser, device, and use of our Services; and from payment, fulfillment, hosting, analytics, and email providers in connection with providing the Services. We do not require you to supply unnecessary sensitive information. If you voluntarily include personal information in a support message, we handle it for the purpose of addressing that message and related lawful recordkeeping.

3 How we use information

We use information to create and authenticate accounts; provide membership benefits, streams, radio, podcasts, and tools; process purchases, delivery inquiries, and refunds; communicate about accounts and Services; manage newsletters and preferences; understand engagement and improve functionality; diagnose problems; protect accounts and systems; prevent fraud and misuse; comply with legal obligations; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims where necessary. We do not currently send member information to external generative-AI tools to create programming or develop software. AI-generated programming is based on other source material, not member account records. Our current engagement measures are used to understand service use, not to make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on members.

4 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for functions such as authentication, session continuity, preferences, and security. Analytics and replay tools may also use cookies or similar identifiers. Internal app beacons and email tracking are additional forms of activity measurement. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect sign-in or other features. Browser cookie controls do not necessarily stop app beacons, server logs, or email tracking. Email settings that block remote images may reduce open tracking; opening a tracked link can still register a click. A login requirement does not make analytics or replay essential, and agreeing to the Terms is not a substitute for legally required tracking consent. This Policy describes these technologies but does not itself obtain that consent. If a particular choice is not available in the interface, contact crew@spacechannel.com about your rights and options. We will handle requests and legally required consent or opt-out obligations under applicable law. Do not assume that a browser's general Do Not Track setting automatically disables every tool.

5 Disclosures and service providers

We disclose information to providers and authorized personnel as needed for the purposes described here. The principal providers involved in our current operations are AirLab Creative Technology LLC for development, maintenance, and technical support; Amazon Web Services for infrastructure and storage; Stripe for payments and transaction administration; Printful for physical-product fulfillment; Google Analytics and StatCounter for website analytics and, for StatCounter, session replay; and Amazon Simple Email Service and Railway for Orbit Mail delivery and infrastructure. AirLab personnel may access member information as needed for authorized development and support work. AirLab's role as technology developer and licensor does not mean that member information is made available for its unrelated marketing. Depending on the service and applicable law, a provider may process information on our behalf or for certain independent purposes, such as payment-network compliance, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Their privacy notices describe their independent processing. We do not characterize every provider as a processor without regard to its actual role. We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect legal rights or address a reasonably supported fraud or safety concern, to professional advisers subject to appropriate obligations, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of relevant business assets subject to applicable law. If a transaction changes the responsible business or materially changes how information will be used, any legally required notice and choices will apply. We do not sell member lists for money or provide member information to advertisers or sponsors for their own marketing. We do not currently use advertising pixels or operate cross-context behavioral advertising campaigns. Analytics providers nevertheless receive information as described above. Whether a particular disclosure legally counts as a sale or sharing can depend on the provider configuration and applicable law; you may contact us to exercise any applicable opt-out right. We do not treat payment for a subscription as permission to disclose viewing information for unrelated purposes.

6 Retention and deletion

Account information and our internal member-engagement and Orbit Mail activity records generally remain associated with the account while it exists. Account closure and deletion requests are handled separately from stopping automatic renewal. If a closure is scheduled for the end of a paid period, the account may remain active through that period. Contact us if you want to exercise a privacy right sooner; a paid subscription does not remove applicable deletion rights or legal response deadlines. Retention depends on why the information is needed, account status, configured provider limits, and legal obligations. Google Analytics and StatCounter retain data according to their settings and service limits, which may differ from the lifetime of a Space Channel account. Email unsubscribe records may be retained to honor your preferences. Transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal records may need to be retained after an account closes. Providers may retain records for their own lawful purposes. When information is no longer needed for a legitimate purpose and retention is not required by law, it should be deleted or appropriately de-identified under the applicable retention process. Removal from active systems may precede expiration of backup copies. We do not promise that cancellation immediately deletes every record from Stripe, Printful, analytics providers, or backups. Contact crew@spacechannel.com for information about retention or to request deletion.

7 Email choices

Each optional newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. An unsubscribe link may stop the particular newsletter rather than all optional communications. You can manage broader email preferences in the member portal under Membership, including the option to unsubscribe from optional emails, or contact crew@spacechannel.com. Necessary messages about security, password recovery, purchases, billing, or important service matters may still be sent after you unsubscribe from marketing. Newsletter choices do not automatically stop other technical usage logging. Contact us about any separate privacy objection or tracking request.

8 Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, applicable law, and any exemptions, you may have rights to confirm whether we process your personal information; access it and obtain a copy; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; obtain a portable copy; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and opt out of legally defined sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. Where applicable, you may also have rights concerning sensitive personal information and information about recipients. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Send requests to crew@spacechannel.com with the subject Privacy Request, or use the website Contact button. Tell us the account email and what you want to do. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify identity or an authorized agent's authority. Do not send your password or full card number. We will not deny legally protected rights merely because you are a free member. We will respond within the deadlines required by applicable law and explain any lawful extension or refusal. For rights governed by the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the ordinary response period is 45 days, with a further 45 days where permitted and timely explained. If we decline a request and an appeal is available, reply with the subject Privacy Appeal. For a Texas appeal, we will respond within 60 days and provide information about contacting the Texas Attorney General if the appeal is denied. Other jurisdictions may require different deadlines and appeal procedures, including a generally one-month response period under European data-protection law. We will not unlawfully discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising a privacy right. Some information is necessary to provide a requested account, purchase, or service; deleting or restricting it may prevent us from providing that function. You may complain to your local data-protection authority or relevant state regulator, including the Texas Attorney General, where applicable. You need not contact us first to exercise that right.

9 International processing and legal bases

Space Channel is based in the United States. Our AWS infrastructure is hosted in the United States, and providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different privacy protections from your home jurisdiction. Use of the Services alone does not waive international-transfer protections. Where European or UK data-protection law applies, processing must have an appropriate legal basis. The relevant purposes are performing a contract for account access, membership, purchase, and support; complying with legal obligations for required financial and legal records; legitimate interests, where permitted and balanced against your rights, in securing and administering the Services and addressing misuse; and consent where required for optional communications, analytics, replay, or other tracking. Contract or legitimate interests cannot replace consent where the law specifically requires it. Transfers subject to European or UK transfer restrictions must have an applicable lawful mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards where available and applicable. This Policy does not represent that every provider has a particular certification or that a particular transfer agreement has already been executed. Contact crew@spacechannel.com for information about the safeguards applicable to your information. We will provide additional representative details if a local representative is legally required and appointed.

10 Children and teenagers

The Services are for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. Under our Terms, accounts are limited to users at least 13, or a higher age if applicable law requires, and minors need parent or guardian involvement. Our present account signup requires email verification; that verification does not independently establish age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact crew@spacechannel.com so we can investigate and take appropriate steps, including restricting the account and deleting information where required. We do not rely on possession of a payment card as proof of adulthood. Additional protections and parental-consent requirements may apply to older minors depending on their location and the processing involved.

11 Security

We use safeguards intended to protect personal information and restrict access to authorized purposes. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Use a unique password and contact us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. If a security incident triggers a legal notification obligation, we will provide the required notifications using appropriate legally permitted methods and timing. This notice does not waive any duty to protect information or any rights you have concerning a security incident.

12 External links and changes

External sites and services reached through links may have different privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information. Their independent practices do not eliminate our obligations for disclosures we make or providers acting on our behalf. We may update this Policy to reflect changes in operations or law. We will identify the effective date and provide notice of material changes through the Services or email as appropriate and required by law. Where a new use requires consent, we will seek it before relying on that consent. A posted change does not retroactively authorize a use requiring consent.
